11th Seminar-Meeting on the rebetiko-Skyros island Greece

The 11th Seminar-meeting on the rebetiko song will take place in Skyros, from July 14 toy July 21, 2019, at the  “Manos and Anastasia Faltaits” Folklore Museum.

In charge of the lessons Musician Spyros Goumas (musician) will be in charge of the lessons, while George Makris will be in charge of the seminar's administration. As always, the “Manos and Anastasia Faltaits” Folklore Museum and the PE.A.P of Skyros municipality as well as the Skyros Shipping Co (SNE), are our supporter, welcoming us in their hospitable places so that we all enjoy the beautiful journey of our rebetiko music.

The Friends of the Faltaits Museum are cutting the New Year’s Pita

On the occasion of the Faltaits Museum’s 55th anniversary, we, the Society of the M&A Faltaits Museum Friends, would like to invite you to join us in a first celebration, which will take place in Skyros, at the Amaltheia Restaurant, on February 15, at 20:00.

During this event will cut our New Year’s Pita and there will be a lottery draw.

Announcement of the 9th Rebetika Songs Seminar-Meeting

The 9th seminar-meeting on rebetiko song will take place at the Folk Museum “Manos and Anastasia Faltaits”, from July 16 to July 23. Speeches open to the public (with english translation) will be held on the 18th and 21st of July, while on Saturday July 22 at the Faltaits Museum Theater the bouzouki virtuoso Spyros Goumas and the participants of the seminar will hold a concert with rebetika songs.

8th Seminar on rebetiko song- A journey to Greek urban folk music (rebetiko)

The sea breeze which comes from the beautiful island of Skyros brings us the call for the implementation of the 8th consecutive year of the Seminar-meeting for the rebetiko, from 17 to 24 July, 2016. The familiar to all of us Folklore Museum "Manos and Anastasia Faltaits" which welcomes us for eight years offering its hospitable areas, waits again to be filled by people who seek to discover and interpret the codes of rebetiko music but also to preserve it from extinction.
